This song has literally been a part of me since I was a child. More than a trite "worship" song where "awesome" is repeated two dozen times, it is actually a testimony of the grace of God on my unworthy soul because of Calvary. It was written by Ira Stanphill [who also wrote, 'I Know Who Holds Tomorrow'], and was one of the most beloved Gospel songs of the 1960s. I remember playing and singing it in Church at the age of 12.
