In Memory of Haley Palmer

"Footprints in history aren't made sitting down." That was Haley Brooke Palmer's life motto. When she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (a disease affecting the lungs) she decided to fight. It was a fight Haley was determined to win and never let it get her down. For those of you who knew Haley, most would say she was always extremely happy. During all she went through, you never once heard her complain. She was always encouraging others to never give up with their own difficulties. Along with the fight of CF, Haley was also in all honors classes and held a 4.0 GPA. Haley stayed active in soccer and gymnastics. Haley requested that at her funeral, the sermon would be strong and lengthy. She felt it was extremely important that everyone there walked out knowing the love that Jesus Christ had for each and every one of them. With the help of family and friends, Haley raised over $120,000 for vital CF research in hopes of one day finding a cure for other CF patients. After years of fighting her battle, Haley succumbed to CF: no more pain, no more sickness, but unfathomable peace. Although Haley is gone, the fight still continues for many other children.
