UK versus USA: Plastic Surgery Edition!

As a board-certified Plastic Surgeon in the UK and US, I thought it would be interesting to share some of the aesthetics differences between these countries in terms of Plastic Surgery styles. Originally, the US is quite trend-driven in terms of their Plastic Surgery and is often the first place where you’ll see these styles coming from – this may be due to the celebrity culture, the replication of looks of famous figures, and attitude around Plastic Surgery which is more open and seen part of self-care and personal branding. In the UK, tweakments – the name for subtle, non-surgical treatments – are very popular and I have this transfer over to my Plastic Surgery patients, who are wanting to enhance their natural beauty as much as possible. Now, however, there’s been a shift in both countries due to this ‘undetectable and quiet luxury trend’ where Deep Plane Facelifts and Blepharoplasty.
