Florida is usually known for its white sand beaches, resorts, and crowded coastlines. But that’s only a small part of the story. In this video, I head into the wild interior of Southwest Florida to explore two places most people have never heard of — Okaloacoochee Slough and Dinner Island Ranch. These landscapes are a completely different side of Florida. Massive oak hammocks draped in Spanish moss, cypress wetlands, open wet prairies, and quiet backcountry roads that stretch for miles. This region is part of a critical wildlife corridor connecting conservation lands across South Florida, supporting animals like black bears, bobcats, and even the endangered Florida panther. It may not have towering mountains or alpine passes, but these ecosystems are just as wild — and just as special. This is the Florida most people never see. If you enjoy overlanding, exploring wild places, and seeing a different side of Florida, consider subscribing for more adventures. #FloridaOverland #WildFlorida #OkaloacoocheeSlough #DinnerIslandRanch #Overlanding #FloridaOutdoors #RossOverland
