CMBW has one mission: to inspire every single human being on this planet to make the world a better place for all. CMBW works closely with BioFinancial Technologies to produce financial resources to support the field of classical music (and in particular to young gifted people of underprivileged backgrounds), and with the American Institute of Translational Medicine and Therapeutics to increase efficiency in people's life and work. CMBW’s central aspect is its series of online mini-concerts (lasting no longer than 45-50 minutes each). Each mini-concert is oriented around a specific theme (whether it be political, social, cultural, humanitarian, etc.) that is directly connected to the true essence of ideal music-making. For more information, please visit https://cmbwmusic.org. The 21-year-old American pianist Michael Lu has been noted for “moving” (Pianist) performances of a “warm, enveloping tone” (Cleveland Classical). His performances are receiving recognition not only from music critics but from great artists of our time - from Eduardo Delgado and Alexander Toradze to Murray Perahia and Maria João Pires, both of whom personally invited the young artist to participate in their masterclasses and workshops. In addition to possessing an unusually wide range of standard repertoire, Michael’s solo, chamber music, and concerto repertoire includes a large number of masterpieces by living and neglected composers such as Beach, Carreño, Clarke, Dett, Hailstork, Higdon, Kaprálová, Price, Reubke, Sheng, Silvestrov, Walker, and Walton, among many others. Michael has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras across three continents and worked with such conductors as Sergio Monterisi, Stephen Mulligan, and Gemma New. Michael is currently a student of Antonio Pompa-Baldi. His previous mentors were Stanislav Ioudenitch and the late Seth Carlin, and he also studied with Reid Smith and Jon Kimura Parker.
