Joe LeVasseur: And I am Joe LeVasseur of the Reality Rebel Podcast. Liz Powell: Awesome. Now we are here at the amazing, wonderful Sex Geek Summer Camp in lovely West Virginia. So Joe, what have you been getting out of camp so far? Joe LeVasseur: So the biggest things that I’ve gotten out of camp this year have been just that – those little key steps that help you to make a successful business. So we look at business a lot of times and we look at the giant hill that it is and it looks like it’s Everest, like it’s huge. Like, I can’t do this thing. But so many people here are doing business in so many different ways and they have so many little tools. They’re just like hey, just do this one bit. Just do this one little thing and you do that one little thing often enough, then you have a really thriving business. So that’s what I have gotten out of Sex Geek Summer Camp. Liz Powell: That’s an awesome takeaway. Yeah. I mean I’ve gotten a lot of the same thing, that a lot of times what blocks me is this sense of like I have to do all the things right now rather than just like picking a thing and doing it. I think that having that emphasis on like just pick a thing and do it. Like, it doesn’t matter what it is. It doesn’t have to be the biggest thing. Just pick a thing and do it. It gets you way further than trying to do all the things right now. Like I don’t need to completely revamp my website today, right? I can just like change one page or edit my “about” page, right? Joe LeVasseur: Yeah, you can do just one thing and doing one thing is still better than doing zero things perfectly. Liz Powell: Right. Oh, god, perfection. I’m such a perfectionist. Joe LeVasseur: Yeah. Like we all want everything to come out fully formed and perfect and completely done. But that’s not how things get done. Things get done in little small ways that look kind of weird but hey, it works and then you edit it and then you make it better and you upgrade and you do the things and then a year down the road, it’s the most fabulous thing ever. Like looking at Reid’s page (Reid Mihalko, reidaboutsex.com), like his page is freaking fabulous. But he took a decade to do it, to get it there. So it’s OK if yours is not the best perfect thing. Liz Powell: Yeah, yeah. I mean you got to – so hard for me to let go of that perfectionism. But it is so important to just get it done, because like 80 perfect and done is always going to be 100 percent better than like 90 percent perfect and not anywhere. Joe LeVasseur: Not existing in the world. Liz Powell: No one can see it. Joe LeVasseur: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You can’t touch anyone if you don’t put anything out in the world. Liz Powell: Fair, totally fair. Joe LeVasseur: Yeah. Liz Powell: And we all like touching people. Joe LeVasseur: Yes, yes, we do. We like touching people. Liz Powell: All right, awesome.
