More of troops arriving at site STORYLINE: A corps of Japanese military engineers on Thursday started to build a base near the southeastern Iraqi city of Samawah where the Japanese troops are to be stationed. An advance team of about 30 Japanese soldiers has already set up camp in Iraq and Japanese air force personnel are in Kuwait to provide logistical support, but the full deployment begins in March. A contingent of about 1,000 Japanese troops will join humanitarian projects in Iraq marking the first time that Japanese troops go to a combat zone since World War II.
