Congratulations to anyone who spotted my not-so-deliberate mistake! The Yeti is a condenser mic, which means pointing it at my mouth will do no good and possibly some harm to the sound quality. On the setting I'm using (cardioid), the best placing would be upright with me speaking into the side of the mesh top, with the Blue logo towards me. Also, although using the tabletop stand is not a problem for my usual webcam-based recording, it's clearly let a lot of shuffling noises onto this particular video which I could've avoided using a boom.
