Today I returned to Jindee to explore a newly built coastal estate that feels strangely empty and unfinished. Some houses stand completed, others are still under construction, and the streets feel almost abandoned. I walked my bicycle across soft sand through a temporary gate leading into a cleared construction zone. The path is fenced off, the land flattened, sparse shrubs barely surviving where bushland once stood. No people. No noise. Just wind, sand and open sky. At the end of the solitary track, the ocean appears. It felt bittersweet. Years ago, I used to walk freely along this coastline with my dog, long before development reshaped the land. Returning now, with construction fences and empty streets, the atmosphere feels liminal, a place suspended between past and future. On the way back, the uneven sandy terrain tilts the camera slightly as I cycle through bumps and ruts, an imperfect but honest moment that adds to the raw, unfiltered experience.
