"You've gotta have swag in your voice," Lil Raven's father told him when he was a kid. At the time they were recording a cover of Jamie Foxx and Drake's "Fall For Your Type" in the home studio. Raven grew up in Virginia, the son of a musician/singer/producer who was cool with Teddy Riley and The Neptunes. Life wasn't easy though, and when it was time to make moves in pursuit of his own musical ambitions, Raven caught a flight to Portland, Oregon with little money and few concrete plans. Now he's an associate-if not exactly a member-of Gothboiclique. During a recent visit to MASS APPEAL HQ Raven explained his mantra "Fly up." What else is a Lil Raven supposed to do?
