You have to walk a mile to reach Kingston Russel Stone Circle - of the originally 18 stones only a few remain. The circle is dated to around 2.500 BC. 44 chambered cairns gather around the A35, more than anywhere else on the British Isles. The date from around 1.500 BC. The Nine Stones is a small circle of the late Stone Age or early Bronze Age. Maiden Castle is the largest hill fort of the UK stretching for around 50 football fields. The place was inhabited from around 3.500 BC but the fort is only around 2.500 years old. Hard to see from the ground and as the wind was crazy I didn't go up and far as much as I would've liked.
