Comb binding creates impressive presentations for business, school and even home projects. Using a comb binding machine allows you to quickly and easily produce numerous bound documents in one sitting. How to Use a Comb Binding Machine 1. Select your comb size. The comb size depends on the number of pages you will be binding. Check your comb packaging to determine the proper comb size for your project. You can also use the integrated document measuring guide found on Fellowes binding machines to determine the comb size. 2. Select binding covers. You will need a front and back cover. Choose from a variety of Fellowes cover styles to find the one that best fits your project. 3. Be sure the binding lever is pushed back. 4. Insert the binding comb into the binding teeth, making sure the spine of the comb is facing away from you and the unattached combs are facing up. 5. Pull the binding lever forward to open the comb prongs. 6. Line up your front and back covers to be punched first. Use the edge guide to set for either letter or oversized pages. 7. Punch the front and back cover. 8. Place the front cover onto the open combs. Align the holes of your punched front cover with the open prongs. 9. Repeat that process with your document, punching your sheets and adding them to your open combs 10. When you have completing punching your document, slide the back cover onto the comb, reverse the lever and close the comb prongs. You now have a professionally bound document! Need to make changes to your document? No problem. With the comb lever pushed back, place the completed document on the binding teeth, making sure the spine is facing away from you and the unattached comb prongs are facing up. Pull the lever toward you to open the comb prongs. You are ready to add or replace any of the pages.
