In today's video, I'm going to teach you how to embed media on WordPress.com. Embedding media such as videos can significantly enhance the appeal and functionality of your blog posts or pages on WordPress. Whether you're looking to add a video tutorial, a product demo, or just some engaging visual content, following these steps will help you easily achieve that. Let's dive in. First, you'll need to log in to your WordPress.com account. Open your preferred web browser and search for "WordPress.com login." Click on the link that appears, which will direct you to the login page. Once there, enter your credentials to access your WordPress.com account. After logging in, navigate to your WordPress dashboard by clicking on the "WordPress.com: Everything You Need to Build Your Website" link. Once you're on the dashboard, you'll have all the tools you need at your fingertips to manage your site effectively. For this tutorial, we are going to focus on embedding media within a WordPress page. On your dashboard, go to the "Posts" or "Pages" section, depending on where you want the media to appear. Click on "Pages" to access the list of all existing pages on your site. From here, click on "Add Page" to create a new page, or choose an existing page to edit. If you're creating a new page, you'll now see a blank canvas where you can start building your content. Look for the plus icon, usually located at the top of the editor. Clicking on this icon opens a menu with various block options. In the search box of the block menu, type "Custom HTML," and select it when it appears. This tool allows you to insert HTML, and because many media embeds are essentially snippets of HTML code, this is a crucial step. Now, let's switch over to the video you wish to embed. This could be a video hosted on platforms like YouTube. Open the video, and copy the URL that appears in your browser's address bar. Keep this URL handy, as we'll be using it very shortly. Return to your WordPress page, where you've added the custom HTML block. Paste the copied URL into the block area. This input allows the video to be fetched and displayed directly on your page. Finally, after pasting the URL, you'll want to click on the "Publish" button. This action makes your newly created or modified page live on the internet, complete with the embedded video ready for your viewers to interact with. By following these steps, you can successfully embed media on your WordPress.com site, enriching the content and providing an enhanced experience for your audience.
