Description: We visited a stream that forms pools near the Chach village in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It lies near Nizampur/Tamhini and is also on the way to the famous Kumbhe waterfall. After parking just outside the village, we took a trail that led us to the stream through the fields. After a 30 min hike, we reached the stream and started heading downstream. We were hoping to find a lot of wildlife, based on the fact that we had recorded some awesome footage of snakes hunting fishes last year. However it seems that our timings were off and the amount of wildlife had reduced drastically. I remember jumping in the large pool and practically being attacked by fishes looking to eat the dead skin off me. This year though, we spotted very few fish. Yet the trip was a success nonetheless, we spotted a few birds, got some good footage and swam in a crazy rock canyon formation. Upon talking to some locals, we found another pool upstream that was fit for swimming as well. A short 15 minute hike upstream through the stream itself led us to that clear water pool. We chilled there too, saw the sunset and finally left for the car in the dark. The return journey was a breeze due to a paved road all the way from that pool to the place where we parked the car.
