Tunnel Creek National Park is one of the three favorite national parks in the Kimberley of western Australia. I suggest you don't miss this one! If you want to reach Tunnel Creek via the Derby route it is about one hundred and eighty kilometers or via the Fitzroy Crossing it is about one hundred and fifteen kilometers. tourists take two hours to two and a half hours to reach Tunnel Creek, as most of the journey is a bumpy dirt road. Tunnel Creek National Park covers approximately ninety-one hectares in the Napier Range, measured from the area of Windjana Gorge National Park. The rocks at Tunnel Creek are made of limestone and are remnants of the ancient reef system that existed here in the Devonian period. That means about three hundred and fifty to three hundred and seventy five million years ago. The main feature of the park is, of course, the seven hundred and fifty meter tunnel that runs through the small stream through the Napier Range. This tunnel is the oldest cave system in Western Australia.
