All six string ferrules fell out onto the bench. This time I took it as an opportunity. I happen to have six black Squier string ferrules that I tapped into place, and I think look cooler. This is not the first time this has happened in one of my videos. I wish Squier would do whatever necessary to make sure this does not happen anymore. The fret edges are acceptable and not sharp. There is no fret rock anywhere on the fretboard. The electronics/controls are inexpensive micro fare electronics meaning small and cheap. Looks like Squier spent all of the money on this model on the aesthetics/looks. The electronics work and the soldering looks good so I should probably not complain. Underneath the pickguard the neck pickup routing would handle out to a p90 in size. The guitar weighs 7 pounds and 12 ounces (3.518 kilos). A little on the heavier side for a telecaster. Measuring for pickup impedance the bridge pickup measure 7.08 k ohms. Both pickups measure 3.66 k ohms. And the neck pickup measures 7.35 k ohms. The guitar was in playable condition when I took it out of the box. The string height was set properly to medium, and the intonation was factory set. Ideas for modding or improving this guitar. I like the pickups and would keep them. I would upgrade the electronics and add push pull coil splitting on the neck pickup. Also, maybe a four-position switch to add a Series position for both pickups. I think this would look very cool to black out by replacing the chrome hardware (bridge, tuners, etc.) with black hardware. Which I just went through all of my parts, and I have most of what I need to do the modifications I have listed here so I am going to do it. Stay tuned for a part two video.
