Belize is a nation on the eastern coast of Central America, with Caribbean Sea shorelines to the east and dense jungle to the west. Offshore, the massive Belize Barrier Reef, dotted with hundreds of low-lying islands called cayes, hosts rich marine life. Belize’s jungle areas are home to Mayan ruins like Caracol, renowned for its towering pyramid; lagoon-side Lamanai; and Altun Ha and Xunantunich just outside Belize City. Joe, the kids and I took an 8 day vacation to Belize back in 2013. My friend Mark, who is a tour guide and archaeologist took us to the Belize Zoo, Xunantunich (Maya Ruin) and taught us so much about our rich Belizean culture. My uncle Roger took us the Caye Caulker and to his girlfriend Miriam's bakery and her home for a wonderful meal. In this part 2 of the Belize vacation my sister and her husband gifted us with a 2 day 1 night stay Los Porticos Villa in Placencia Belize. We ate street food in Belize City, Cayo and Placencia. My uncle's girlfriend also made us several meals. Today I'll show you how to make Panades which we ate several times on the trip. Miriam made Salbutes and Panucho for us and then taught me how to make them.
