CRASH 2004- Movie Look Back Review If you missed any of my previous Movie Look Back Reviews they are all here in one playlist • Looking Back - Movies Welcome back to another movie look back review here on Toned In Entertainment. Today's look back has some thrills, crime, mystery and a whole lot of drama. It's time to put the pedal to the metal but keep your eyes on the road as I look back at CRASH released back in 2004. The Movie Stars Sandra Bullock as Jean Don Cheadle as Graham Matt Dillon as Officer Ryan Jennifer Esposito as Ria Brendan Fraser as Rick Chris Bridges aka Ludacris as Anthony Lorenz Tate as Peter Thandie Newton as Christine Terrance Howard as Cameron Ryan Phillippe as Officer Hanson Michael Pena as Daniel And was directed by Paul Haggis who also wrote the story for Crash The Premise While usually the premise of a movie is pretty simple, Crash's plot takes many twists and turns as far as its story goes, but really the story is about how people from different races, lifestyles and social standings lives will all collide together. Racial Tensions Probably the one theme that stands out more than any is the racial tensions that the characters in the movie create by having racial stereotypes. And the tension at times really gets heated when people get pushed to their mental limits. A STRONG MESSAGE Through all the craziness of these characters Paul Haggis really makes the characters three dimensional. Just when you think someone is completely heartless they show a heart of gold. when you think that someone is just a low life criminal, they make you smile by doing the right thing. And just when you think someone is the opposite of all the characters that have come before them, they pull a 180 and show a darker side. Supporting Cast In addition to the main characters that I mentioned off the top there's also supporting roles by actors such as Loretta Divine, William Fichtner and Tony Danza to name a few. And their roles aren't just here as small cameos but also play an intricate part in progressing this story. Shades Of Gray In most moves you have your protagonist and antagonist, but in crash it's all thrown out the window. There is no 100% good or bad person. Everyone here has their faults and just when they look like they are the scum of the Earth, they do something completely heroic, it really is a testament to how well this movie was thought out. Do I Recommend Crash? Yes. Going into this movie I knew it, and I found myself heavily invested in both the story and the characters for this entire ride. Final Thoughts If I said this movie was anything short of brilliant I wouldn't be doing this movie justice, and my final score for Crash on a scale of 1-10 is a 9.5 out of 10. This is a movie that will keep you guessing and at the same time pulls you into this crazy world with one crazy situation that happens end after another. If you have never watched this movie do yourself a favor and check this one out. Have you ever watched Crash from 2004 and if you have, what are your thoughts on this movie?
