Varanasi Seer Says Will Offer Prayers Before 'Shivling' In Gyanvapi, Stopped By Cops

A seer in Varanasi, Swami Avimukteshwaranand, announced on Friday that he and his followers would offer prayers at a ‘Shivling' at Gyanvapi complex on Saturday, June 4. After this, the security in and around Kedar Ghat in Varanasi was increased. Swami Avimukteshwaranand, a disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, said he would go to Gyanvapi with 70 people and offer prayers at the 'Shivling'. Varanasi Police has not given permission to Avimukteshwaranand to go to Gyanvapi. They stopped Swami Avimukteshwaranand at the gate of Vidya Math. The police have increased their presence at the gate of the ashram.
