Hope you enjoy my painting process of the Great wave. 🌊 If you have any questions, please a comment down below. I will get back to you as soon as possible, you can also follow me on Instagram: @studiosemantics In this video, I will show you the process of painting the Great Wave on a Picard Leather Bag. The process takes 2 days. Step 1 : Drawing the Wave Stencil Design the wave on photoshop, trace out the wave with pencil, ink the wave to give some weight to the lines Step 2 : Cutting The Stencil Be cautious when you using the knife! It is best to keep a minimum 2 contact point when cutting stencil, to keep the structure of the stencil reliable, so it will not be too flimsy. Step 3 : Using the Stencil Use the layer method, I cut out a portion of the positive space, trace over before I go back to cutting again. I use scrotch tape on both sides of the Stencil, to reinforce the structure before cutting the 2nd layer. Step 4: Painting on Leather Remember to premix your paint before you start your painting project, always give grace when mixing your paint. Step 5: Cleaning Up Do not worry about making mistakes, it happens, clean it up with nail polisher or acetone. Use cotton buds or a clean paint brush to remove unwanted paints. Step 6: Sealing up The paint I use Mod Podge Matt or Gloss to seal up the paint, there are many methods and techniques, make use of what you have. Additional: Let it air-dry for 15 mintues, alternatively you use a hot air dryer to blow it.
