In July 2018 I visited Magdeburg, the capital city of the Saxony –Anhalt region in Germany. It is situated on the Elbe River. The city was given the nickname "City of Otto" in honor of two famous Ottos who had played an important role in the city's history - Otto the Great and Otto von Guericke.
