From Cofresí Beach (Gypsy’s personal paradise), to the colorful Umbrella Street, to the historic Fortaleza San Felipe, Puerto Plata mixes fishing-town charm with cruise-ship hustle in the best possible way. And yes—this is the episode where we finally get invited behind those mysterious beach walls. The result? An unexpected tour of the enormous Lifestyle Resort: multiple restaurants, villas, VIP zones, cafes, and the kind of sales operation that could sell a penguin a space heater. Along the way we try local dishes like mangú and mofongo relleno, make a few inevitable boat repairs (the “no Amazon, no problem” edition), and take in Puerto Plata from a sailor’s perspective.
