I visited the campus of Loyola Marymount University (LMU), located in L.A.'s growing tech and startup hub, the Silicon Beach. As a library enthusiast, I will focus this video on the walk in the William H. Hannon Library, an identifiable landmark both inside and outside the campus. This spectacular, modern building has won multiple design awards: 1. CNN.com – New American Architecture: 10 Standout Buildings (2010) 2. Illuminating Engineering Society of Los Angeles – Award of Merit (2010) 3. American Libraries – American Libraries’ Library Design Showcase (2010) I will also take you for a quick walk into the University Hall, which was originally constructed as the former Hughes Aircraft Co.’s world headquarters. LMU acquired the land and officially took over the building from Raytheon Co. in 2000.
