In recent years, much has been done to improve the quality and scope of services in Uzbekistan’s banking system. However, in an ever-changing and more globalised world undergoing heightened competition, there is a need to intensify the transformation of commercial banks and take banking services to a new level. Currently, the most important task is to transform the country’s banking and business processes with a view to expanding private equity participation. Panel-session participants will share their experience of bank transformation with the participation of leading international financial institutions and provide a comprehensive update on the ongoing work to privatise commercial banks in Uzbekistan.
