These do have a green coating on them which I've found to be unnecessary, and it just makes a mess. Also, when it rains, the green wears off. When I put away our old tomato cages, they always get bent up because they are so wide. These bamboo stakes you can stand a bunch of them up on a corner or just lay them down on a shelf and they will be out of the way until next planting season.
