Creative leadership, how to successfully guide a creative team to success, is also subject to this kind of myth making. Game designers who aspire to leadership often find that the reality is very different from the stories they heard or told themselves. In this session, we will break down why this happens. Why do we make up myths about how creative leadership works, and what are those myths trying to tell us? This talk is intended for anyone interested in game design leadership and for all skill levels. You will learn the myths game designers tell themselves about leadership throughout their careers, from associate to director levels of experience. We'll discuss the realities of those myths, and what those myths are subconsciously telling us.
