Celebrations for International Day of Persons with Disabilities

International Day of Persons with Disabilities: The Lions Club of Sullurpeta Shar celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday, December 9th ( instead of 3rd December due to heavy rains), around 11:00 AM at the Mandal Praja Parishad office. On this occasion, the Lions Club organized this event to provide some assistance, emphasizing that persons with disabilities are like everyone else and need equal opportunities, respect, social responsibility, and social participation. The aim was to offer them the necessary courage and mental cheerfulness. During the program, 60 persons with disabilities were given sarees, blankets, lungies, and meals. Lion members Audiseshareddy K, Apparao BV, Madhusudana Reddy K, and Harish S provided financial aid and support for this event. The program was held under the leadership of 316J Lion District Region Secretary Dr. Audiseshareddy and Club President Lalitha B. AP State Officials DDO Jali Reddy Garu and MPDO Murali Krishna Garu participated in the event and delivered a message to instill self-confidence and assurance to the persons with disabilities. The leaders of the persons with disabilities, Mrs N. Santhakumari Garu and Srinivas Garu, helped to organize the program in order. The other Club members participated and made the event a success are: Lns. Adinarayana Reddy T (Nageswaralaya Temple Chairman), Dr. Apparao BV, Madhusudana Reddy K, Srinivasa Rao M, Bharathi M, Radhakrishnarao R, Muralidar C, Harish S, Vasundhara CH, Raghurami Reddy K, Srinivasulu Jetti P, Hari Narayana Reddy G and V.V. Sivakumar.
