GLUT1 DEFICIENCY: WHEN FOOD BECOMES LIFE

What does it mean to live every day with a very rare genetic disease that currently knows no cure? What if the only treatment available was a diet that, if you follow it to the letter for life, could allow you to keep some of the symptoms under control? This video aims to tell what it means to face Glut1 deficiency syndrome every day: from the more concrete aspects of everyday life, to concerns for the present and the future. With the collaboration of chef Simone Rugiati, the Italian Glut1 Association has launched an awareness campaign aimed at families, schools, teachers and more generally to all those who come into contact with people with Glut1 deficiency or who have to follow special diets: through four informative videos we tell what it means to live with the disease and to have to micromanage the content and dosage of one's diet with extreme attention every day, both from a nutritional point of view and in terms of social consequences.
