This video aims to be a short and powerful introduction to SGH Campus as the hub of patient care, research and education. It features the strong integrated links between SGH and the specialist national centres on campus, working hand in hand towards a common vision. The SGH Story (1821-2011) SGH is 190 years old. Established in 1821, restructured in 1989, with former departments spinning off as National Specialty Centres around the campus - SNEC, NDCS, NHCS, NCCS & NNI. SGH Campus houses the largest public healthcare cluster in Singapore with SGH and 5 National Specialty Centres, contributing much to Singapore's healthcare landscape. SGH Campus alone receives 31% of the entire Singapore's Specialist Outpatient Clinic attendees and 37% of all Inpatients & Day Surgeries. The opening of Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in 2007 is indicative of its strategic pursuit of academic medicine. Over the past decade, SGH Campus has collectively seen success in comprehensive, integrated medical treatments, organ transplant expertise, internationally recognised medical and nursing education, ground-breaking research, effective chronic disease management programmes and IT investments to give each patient a portable electronic medical record. Through all these efforts, all the Campus institutions have been consistently guided by its shared staff motto of "putting patients at the heart of all we do." It has brought about positive results in transforming the way healthcare is delivered, through clinical excellence, enhanced patient care, pioneering medical education and cutting-edge biomedical research, with innovations in patient care to meet the healthcare needs of all Singaporeans.
