Exploring the Future of Automation in Indonesia | Business Initiation Program 2025 From September 8 to 11, the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Indonesia/EKONID), in partnership with VDMA and Bitkom, successfully organized the Delegation on Automation Solutions in Manufacturing in Jakarta and Batam. Part of the Foreign Market Entry Program (MEP) funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the four-day initiative brought together leading German SMEs specializing in: Robotics & Smart Manufacturing Digital Twin & Industrial IoT Solutions Energy-efficient and sustainable automation technologies The program included: A briefing in Jakarta with government officials and industry associations on Indonesia’s economic outlook, policy landscape, and automation challenges. A visit to the Ministry of Industry (ILMATE) to understand policies advancing industrial transformation. A German Technology Showcase, where delegates presented cutting-edge solutions to Indonesian partners. B2B matchmaking sessions, fostering direct collaboration opportunities. Site visits in Batam, including to BP Batam, PT Sat Nusapersada, PT Wohlrab Indonesia, and PT Schneider Electric, culminating with German Technology Day at Batamindo Industrial Park. The delegation served as a platform to exchange expertise, strengthen bilateral ties, and highlight how German innovation can support Indonesia’s journey toward industrial modernization and digital transformation.
