We start our journey at the Shri Baneshwar Mandir, which was built over 5000 years ago! Legend has it that it served as a hiding place for the Pandavas and showcases hand-carved relics from the time. The Shri Someshwar Temple is a beautiful hand-painted structure that dates back almost 1000 years. It holds a special place in the heart of Maharashtrians becuase it is said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to visit here with his mother. In additio to offering prayers, a museum is also being built on the premises. Few places combine historical significance and serenity quite like the iconic Shri Devdeveshwar Temple does. Perched atop Parvati Hill, this temple was completed under Balaji Baji Rao in 1749, with a gold pinnacle being added in 1760. The temple complex comprises five different temples where you can pay your respects, as well as a museum where you can examine several artifacts from the Peshwa era. Once you have paid your respects at the temple, you can spend some time at the museum and enjoy a few snacks while taking in spectacular views of the city from the top of the hill. Another serence and scenic temple in the city is the Saras Baug Ganpati Temple, which is built in the eye-catching Peshwa style and is located right next to a picturesque lake!
