Made with a crispy orange-coloured crust filled with a savoury mixture of ground meat, vegetables, and local spices, this flavourful snack is a must-have for any food enthusiast visiting the city. We had to try a few just to be sure! The food here in Ilocos has been incredible, so many different varieties and variations of classic filipino foods. We tried Vigan empanadas, bibingkas and were lucky enough to visit Vigan during the Kannawidan Festival which showcases lots of local specialities from each town in the Ilocos Sur region. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes.
