Selected for the negotiations for his expertise, Barnier has an extensive background in European politics. Having served as special advisor to President Barroso of the European Commission, Head of the UK Task Force, and European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, Barnier has been a prominent voice both within France and Europe as a whole.
