Learn how youthworkers and youth organisations can build good communication with young people’s support systems at home, with parents and families, through communications methods and approaches. These can range from: Regular, inclusive communications using whatsapp Remembering important dates and occasions Using translator apps and AI to overcome language barriers Recognising how young people and their parents communicate differently - and the importance of overcoming not only the generational divide but the cultural one of being raised in a different country than their parents grew up in. How young people and parents value learning about and experiencing their children’s successes and progress – not just communication when things have gone wrong Understanding how parents value getting insights from youth workers on how they can support their child better.
