The PD-STAT Trial: Paving the way for the future of remote trial delivery

Dr Camille Carroll, chief investigator of the PD-STAT trial describes how this study, which was forward-thinking from the outset, had to go one step further during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure it could be completed. She explains why NIHR Clinical Research Network support was crucial to the success of the trial as it transitioned to a full virtual delivery model - also known as remote delivery. Dr Carroll feels that this trial, among others, is paving the way for the future of remote trial delivery in the UK: “I think the UK response to the COVID-19 pandemic has really exemplified what can be achieved within the UK in terms of delivering clinical research.
