1 year without posting a video on this channel. But… here I am back again, this time bringing you something different from an animation video: a video game. Donkey Kong Country is one of my favorite games of all time. I spent a lot of time playing it on my Game Boy Color. The original version released for the SNES has aged like fine wine. If you play this game today, you will still be amazed by how good the gameplay, graphics, and OST are. When I was a kid, I even drew new levels for the game on paper; sadly, I couldn’t play them. They were just drawings. Years have passed, and the game was ported to the GBC and GBA, but no remake has been made to this day, so I thought: why not remake the game myself? Well, at least the first level, because remaking the whole game is extremely hard work. After months of thinking and figuring things out, I managed to recreate the first level of this game. The art style is not exactly like the SNES pre-rendered graphics, but I tried to stay faithful while giving myself the freedom to tweak some things here and there. This is the Remake of Jungle Hijinxs, the first level of Donkey Kong Country. 0:00 JUNGLE HIJINXS REMAKE 0:06 Kong's Banana Hoard 0:15 Climbing vines 0:22 Inside DK's cozy Treehouse 0:31 Start of level 1:00 Rambi, the rhino 1:04 Bonus 1 1:24 Bonus 2 1:44 DK Dies 1:58 Expresso Bonus 3:09 Back from Checkpoint 3:41 Diddy lost Bonus 2 4:37 THANKS FOR WATCHING THIS VIDEO!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Software: Blender: Modeling, baking textures, and animating; Godot: Engine used to build the final level; GIMP: Texture editing; VS Code: Programming the game logics; Audacity: Editing the music and sound effects; OBS: Recording the gameplay.
