What did people eat during the time of Prophet Sulayman (peace be upon him) nearly 3,000 years ago? In this documentary, we explore the foods, agriculture, and dietary traditions that existed in the ancient Near East during the era traditionally associated with Sulayman, a period known for flourishing kingdoms, trade networks, and advanced societies. Food in that time was shaped by the land, climate, and the agricultural practices of the region. Staples such as wheat, barley, olives, dates, figs, and grapes formed the foundation of daily meals. Bread, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products were common, while meat was often reserved for special occasions or communal gatherings. This video also explores how trade routes connected kingdoms across the region, bringing spices, grains, and other goods from distant lands. These exchanges influenced the variety of foods available to different communities.
