Rose soulfire DH - 1 year of riding

A year off riding on the Rose soulfire DH 2020. I am 179cm. and went for a size Large, as it had almost the same geo numbers as my size large Trek remedy. And i wanted something longer for the better stability. Only changed the bars and sadle. The bike is a real freeride beast, it really shines in the bikeparks and on huge jumps. Its super easy to stear in the air and absorbs huge hits and hucks to flat with easy. The bike feels super poppy and playfull. With that said, its not made for downhill racing, even thou it has 190mm off travel in the rear, and 200mm upfront. The coil shock goes thru all of its travel with easy when set up with 25% sag. It made it really hard to make it feel good on the technical section. And if it did, it just bottom out on the smallest hits. I think an air shock would have been a way better choice for this bike. This would make it more plush on the roots and rocks, and be able to take bigger hits without bottoming out at the same time. If you out looking for a bikepark machine that just encourages you to take bigger jumps, roost berms and have and absolut blast, this is the bike. But i would not recommend this bike for downhill racing, not the stock setup. I often felt like i was sitting on top of the bike and it made it quite uncomfortable in the fast, steep technical sections.
