Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has trashed the charge that Narendra Modi's Government at centre is intolerant towards criticism and dissent and that it is cracking down on opposition, journalists and activists for taking on the government. He spoke to Hindustan Times' Kumkum Chadha and said continued criticism of the Modi Government is itself proof of the Government's tolerance for dissent and unfavourable views. His wife and diplomat Lakshmi Puri, who also served at the United Nations for a long time, agreed with the minister and said there is a lot of freedom to 'abuse' the Government in India than in many other countries.
