Recovery has been flying by, cannot believe we’re at day 10 already! It all kind of feels like a blur, as if I were worrying and prepping for the surgery just yesterday. And now here I am, 3 decades of suffering gone just like that and I’ve never been happier! Recovery has been a breeze compared to all of those years of suffering with fibroids and endo and I owe so much of this amazing recovery to my doctor, my caregivers, prayers and good vibes from friends and family and most of all, proper preparation of body and mind. I feel that now the hardest part is coming up...where I feel I can do anything but I still have a good 5-6 weeks left of recovery and at least 6 months, possibly more, before my uterus and my body completely return to normal. Even though my yoga mat is looking sad and dusty in the corner and I’ve got a good 8-9 weeks before I can even think about a strenuous workout session or putting a dumbbell to work, what’s most important to remember at this point is to follow my body’s lead and really listen.
