My thoughts as a non-professional/ regular Joe/ layman after a week of switching to a mirrorless (Canon EOS M50) from a DSLR (Canon SL2/ 200D). Been using DSLRs since 2007 so there's a bit of a minor adjustment. Nothing major, but I just want to point out a few things that surprised me. The lineup I had just before switching last week: Canon SL2/ 200D tiny lightweight DSLR, EF-S 10-18 mm ultrawide lens, and two pancake lenses: EF-S 24 mm f/2.8, EF- 40 mm f/2.8. This lineup is already very small and light, even for a DSLR. But I still found the EF-S 10-18 mm bulky. After much research, I decided to make the jump to mirrorless. I thought 2019 is a good time to do so as the Canon EOS M50 mirrorless is on sale and it's not yet an outdated camera. So now my current kit is the Canon M50 mirrorless camera, and these two native mirrorless lenses EF-M 11-22 mm ultrawide lens (replacing the already light BUT BULKY DSLR ultrawide EF-S 10-18 mm), EF-M 22 mm pancake lens (replacing the EF-S 24 mm f/2.8). I'm also keeping the EF- 40 mm f/2.8 pancake lens and bought a cheap Viltrox EF to EF-M adapter for it since I very rarely use that focal length, preferring wide to tight shots. I sold the SL2/ 200D, 10-18 mm ultrawide, and EF-S 24 mm.
