As you'll see from the photo, this label also had a huge spindle, so the label was kind of doomed from the beginning when you couldn't play it on most machines. What’s amazing about this recording is that it was made only 56 years after Foster’s song was originally written, so (more likely than not) this is about as close as you’re going to get to hearing it sung as it was in Foster’s time. It was also not unusual for arrangements to end with a choir singing in the 19th Century. Surface noise managed by using Vinyl Studio Software.
