Another indication of IOFA is to determine vascular filling defects and subsequently treating those affected areas appropriately. In this specific case, there is evidence of an inferotemporal branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) that was the causative factor for the vitreous hemorrhage. Upon performing IOFA, a localized area of ischemia was detected, which was then treated with focal laser therapy instead of addressing the entire inferotemporal region.
