Following a screening of short films from American Masters – Unladylike2020 profiling changemakers Charlotta Spears Bass and Mary Church Terrell, panelists discussed the legacies of these inspiring women and the importance of their enduring legacies. The event was presented by THIRTEEN in partnership with the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. Expert panelists include Karen Boykin-Towns, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the NAACP; Dr. Treva Lindsey, Associate Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio State University; Sandra Rattley, Executive Producer, Director & Writer, Unladylike2020; and Maya Scriven, Artist/Activist; with moderator Jenna Flanagan, Host of MetroFocus on THIRTEEN American Masters – Unladylike2020 is an innovated multimedia series illuminating the inspiring stories of little-known American heroines from the early years of feminism and the women who now follow in their footsteps.
