It is a flat green island, owned today by the Livanos shipowner. It is believed that the island of Koronida owes its name to the neighboring Kranidi, a name that emerged from the corruption of Koronidas in Kranida and then in Kranidi. Koronida belongs to the municipality of Kranidi, in the municipal district of Koilada. On the shore opposite the islet is the Franghthi cave. Είναι πεδινό καταπράσινο νησάκι, ιδιοκτησίας σήμερα του εφοπλιστή Λιβανού. Πιστεύεται πως στην νησίδα Κορωνίδα οφείλει την ονομασία του το γειτονικό Κρανίδι, ονομασία που προέκυψε από παραφθορά του Κορωνίδα σε Κρανίδα και στην συνέχεια σε Κρανίδι. Το όνομα αυτό έφτασε να προσδιορίζει και την ευρύτερη περιοχή της νησίδας και τελικά πέρασε στον οικισμό του Κρανιδίου που χτίστηκε στην περιοχή τον 15ο αιώνα, ο οποίος διατήρησε αυτή την ονομασία. Στο νησί διαμένουν τέσσερις κάτοικοι σύμφωνα με την απογραφή του 2001. Η Κορωνίδα ανήκει στον δήμο Κρανιδίου, στο δημοτικό διαμέρισμα Κοιλάδας.
