Three rings, one company, one building “Hanwha’s Tri-circle consists of three circles symbolizing Hanwha’s identity: Trust, Respect and Innovation. The crisscrossing of the three circles indicates that the conglomerate’s three main business areas; financing, manufacturing, and distribution - have synergetic effects with the goal of realizing a vision of developing the business group into a global conglomerate. Hanwha’s vision is to become a top- tier enterprise that enriches life and promotes the advancement of customers, society and humanity as a whole.” (from Hanwha Business Group’s introduction). Three circles joined together express Hanwha’s vision. Therefore we propose a building, which also is a unifying structure, because it brings together all the various programs of the new Hanwha’s Education Center. As Hanwha’s philosophy - Trust, Respect and Innovation describes the company’s identity, we designed a building where the three parts of the building are joined together to maximize the synergy between the users, the activities and the nature around it. Compact Building The compact building volume is efficient, has short walking distances, is foreseeable, has a small overall surface and is therefore economical to heat and cool down, and cheaper to build. It also makes the building seem alive, because you will be able to see people crisscrossing the central atrium, and in this way, you will also meet your colleague, which is an important element of teambuilding. The building follows the landscape in a way that it never becomes more than 4 stories high and in such a way that it gently and carefully places itself in the beautiful settings and fits in
