This is a quick compilation of some fantastic traction action taken at Acton Bridge on Saturday 02nd April 2016. I would never normally dream of going to "The Bridge" on a Saturday but with several charters due through I couldn't pass up such an opportunity. We start off with 45699 "Galatea" and a support coach heading down to Crewe to work a charter from Crewe, then 57316 & 57601 race northwards on a the Statesman from London Euston to Fort William. Next up 86259 "Les Ross" speeding through on the "Cumbrian Mountain Express" followed by 86101 "Sir William A. Stanier FRS" blasting northwards on a FootEx from London Euston to Liverpool Lime St. The final shot is GBRF 66703 working the 5Z87 ECS of the football charter with 86101 on the rear. The following workings were captured today; 45699 - 5Z60 Carnforth Steamtown - Crewe 57316 & 57601 - 1Z49 London Euston - Fort William 86259 - 1Z86 London Euston - Carlisle 86101 - 1Z85 London Euston - Liverpool Lime St 66703 & 86101 - 5Z87 Liverpool Lime St - Crewe Down Refuge Sdgs All in all it was a good if not long day, I'd have liked to have stayed for 45699 working L/E+1 back to Carnforth and 46233 working the CME back to Crewe but it just wasn't possible this time. Still it was great to see some WCML classics in action at speed and that's what counts :D Now the question we have to ask is did the Spurs fans appreciate the quality traction provided?
