Pasta in an alfredo sauce has always been a comfort food for me. Here's how we do it over here so we can both enjoy it: Melt 1 TBS butter (or margarine) over medium heat Add 1 TBS flour and whisk together until combined to make a roux Add 1 cup milk (we used 2%) slowly, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly Continue to stir until thickened Add 3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated, slowly and stir until melted and mixture is thickened. Serve over pasta **For a traditional alfredo sauce add garlic ** You'll see we added spinach to the sauce, this is optional, sometimes we add mushrooms or broccoli. Or, the sauce stands on it's own.
