Join me on another walking video tour to the legendary samgyetang or chicken soup at Tosokchon near Gyeongbokgung Palace! It's quite pricey but the taste is heavenly, so it's worth a visit. The queues can be long and daunting but they clear very fast, expect around 10-15 minutes wait at least. Once in, you'll be shown to your table by pretty usherers dressed in traditional hanbok. You'll have to remove your shoes and place them at the entrance of the villa on the floor as there are no shoe racks. Seating's on the floor with a cushion/mat so you'll need to cross-leg it. There are two choices for the chicken soup - The slightly more expensive Korean black chicken option has a deeper and richer taste and texture to it, while the normal chicken soup is aromatic and heavenly. I won't say that one is better than the other and it would be down to preferences. Remember to pour the ginseng wine into the broth before serving to take the soup to the next level. Absolutely yummylicious and worth your time and money so if you're in the neighbourhood (of course you'd be!) of Gyeongbokgung Palace, make sure you drop by this place!
