It means that hip joint in new born child is not developed fully, Congenital hip dislocation (CHD) occurs when a child is born with an unstable hip. It's caused by abnormal formation of the hip joint during their early stages of fetal development. Another name for this condition is “developmental dysplasia of the hip.” This instability worsens as your child grows. Can congenital hip dislocation be treated? People with hip dysplasia don't always need surgery. If the condition is diagnosed early (in the prenatal period or during infancy) it can often be treated effectively with bracing. A mild hip dysplasia may not require any treatment, but may need to be monitored as the child grows. What causes hip dysplasia? Genetics plays a strong role, but other influences during pregnancy and birth – such as congenital conditions caused by the fetus being in a uterus that is too small – and cases of breech birth can also lead to developmental hip dysplasia.
